procon pumps up global ecommerce on znode


Situation

PROCON Products is a division of Standex and the world leader in custom fluid solutions. PROCON supports OEMs in various industries by manufacturing many styles of positive displacement pumps, motors, and pump/motor combinations.


Challenge

PROCON is a leading global manufacturer with locations in the USA, Mexico, and Ireland. PROCON’s international scope of its business and anticipated growth into multiple channels required increased personalization, especially for regional accounts. The manufacturer was seeking to personalize business for buyers by accommodating language, currency, payment methods, and product assortment that varied by region.

The manufacturer was unable to build multiple regional storefronts on its previous BigCommerce platform to accommodate business growth. PROCON required an ecommerce platform to centralize its 6,000+ SKUs and structured data built into families while uniquely applying them to different storefronts. Additionally, both product information and educational information needed to be readily available to customers in the storefronts.

PROCON needed to address the tax complexities of an international business model as well as the payment processing demands of multi-national operations. Technicians purchasing directly from PROCON needed the ability to see both MSRP and account-based pricing.


Solution

PROCON’s requirements were met with the selection of Znode. The ecommerce platform enabled personalization for PROCON’s long-term plans, allowing the manufacturer to deliver catalogs, pricing, payment methods, and content by account. These personalizations reflect the region and account type of the customer, providing a more compelling shopping experience for customers.

Znode’s inherent scalability was a major improvement over PROCON’s previous platform. All of the SKUs and structured data were transferred to Znode, maintaining the necessary organization while providing flexibility for additional attributes to be created as product offerings expand. The  native Znode PIM system, which is decoupled from inventory and pricing, gave PROCON the ability to build unique catalogs for regions, user profiles, and accounts that require specific product assortments. Future scalability is ensured for PROCON through these native features, which enable multi-channel ecommerce.

Using the Znode CMS, PROCON created educational and support pages with information on installation, safety guidelines, and FAQs. Product images and technical diagrams on other pages were uploaded through Znode’s DAM, enhancing the digital experience for PROCON customers. Additionally, the Znode Commerce Connector easily allowed for integrations with PROCON’s Avalara tax software, Stripe payment processor, and eventual integration to its Epicor Kinetic (formerly E10) ERP system. Znode has provided the manufacturer the necessary feature set to launch a full multi-store strategy for its international digital expansion.
