Fechheimer Suits Up its Ecommerce with Znode
Fechheimer Brothers Company, a Berkshire Hathaway Company, has been manufacturing uniforms for the public safety industry since 1842. The company maintains the largest in-stock offering of public safety uniforms in the U.S., which are sold through its brand Flying Cross. Fechheimer also offers tactical and outdoor gear through its Vertx brand, as well as flame resistant apparel with its third brand, Justin FR Work.
Fechheimer’s legacy ecommerce platform had many constraints that created operational inefficiencies for the ecommerce team. The team had to upload one or multiple changes using Excel spreadsheets, while price updates had to be done through SQL Server queries, which were both extremely time consuming processes. Fechheimer also had to custom develop the ERP connector to the legacy platform. This created additional technical debt and risk. In order to achieve its revenue goals, Fechheimer required an ecommerce platform that could provide greater flexibility, advanced multi-store capabilities for its multiple brands, and easier integrations.
Fechheimer chose Znode as its new ecommerce platform to allow for the flexibility and multi-store capabilities it needed. Since moving to Znode, Fechheimer can now make changes to its large product database using Znode’s built-in Product Information Management (PIM) system, rather than using Excel spreadsheets and SQL Server queries. Through its multi-store functionality, Znode is able to power Fechheimer’s three different brands with three different stores. Each store has a different payment structure, distribution center and shipping, all easily managed out of the back-end admin. When an order is now placed, customers receive real-time shipping rates and the order is instantly routed to the appropriate location for seamless fulfillment. Fechheimer’s ERP integrations are simplified through the Znode’s connector framework, reducing technical debt and risk.
